I am delighted to announce the opening of the Flinders Vision Clinic at the University’s Sturt precinct of the Bedford Park campus to provide clinical training opportunities for students and optometry services to the general public.
The clinic will run as a standard optometry practice offering services to the South Australian community. All Flinders students, staff and their immediate families are eligible to receive a 25% discount on glasses and sunglasses and 20% discount on contact lenses.
Flinders Vision Clinic is the only site in South Australia where overseas students can claim electronically for an optometric consultation. Agreements have been arranged with private health funds to allow direct billing of consultations for overseas students.
The state of the art $7.4 million teaching clinic will enable optometry students to see patients and will feature video recording of consultations so supervisors can watch in real time as consultations occur.
