An offline assignment can be used when students do not need to upload any work into FLO – for example, when doing presentations, posters or lab books. The assignment tool can be used to manage and return marks and feedback.
The benefits of creating an offline assignment:
Communicates assignment requirements to students
Adds the due date to the topic calendar
Allows for electronic management of feedback and marks
Create an offline assignment
Create an assignment (for file submissions) and make the following adjustments to the settings.
Submission settings
For Submission types, untick File submissions.
Availability settings
It may not be necessary to set a due date for offline assignments, as no submission occurs through FLO. If this is the case, you might like to untick the box next to the Due date to disable the date for the assignment. However, if a due date is noted
in the Statement of Assessment Methods (SAM), you should include it in the assignment settings. If a due date is included, it will appear in the topic calendar.
