Flinders University is actively building a better future for its staff, students and the community.
Essential works have been programmed at our Bedford Park campus during the quieter period between December and February, to minimise the impact to staff and students.
These works will include an essential upgrade of Flinders’ power network commencing in mid-December 2013, followed by resurfacing of several campus roads to repair deterioration caused by aging and some surface abrasion during January and February.
In all instances, advisory signs and stop/slow traffic management will be in place to assist road users and ensure road safety for motorists and pedestrians. Directional signage will be installed on Registry Road advising of the temporary bus stop relocation.
> REGISTRY ROAD (16 Dec 2013 – 24 Jan 2014)
Bus Stop Relocated: The Registry Road bus stop will be temporarily relocated to Car Park 1 for the duration of these works.
If you need assistance travelling to/from the relocated bus stop, please contact Security on 8201 2880 (ext 12880).
Car Park 6 Access: Modifications to the intersection of Registry Road and Ring Road (near Car Park 6). Registry Road will be resurfaced. Lane restrictions may cause some delays for motorists accessing Car Park 6.
New pedestrian crossing: A new pedestrian crossing will be installed on Registry Road, linking Car Park 6 and the Mall steps to provide increased pedestrian safety for students, staff and visitors.
Access to Service Lane: Service vehicles will still have access to the Service Lane.
> RING ROAD CLOSURE (18 Dec 2013)
Ring Road, between University Drive and Registry Road, will be closed for one day to complete underground works across Ring Road.
> HUMANITIES ROAD (6 Jan 2014 - 4 Feb 2014)
Lane restrictions may cause some delays for motorists accessing Car Park 5. The road and car park behind the Drama building will be closed for the duration of the works.
> UNIVERSITY DRIVE/RING ROAD INTERSECTION, SPORTS ROAD & STURT ROAD (Jan-Feb 2014)
Repair of damaged road surfaces at the intersection of University Drive and Ring Road, University Drive and Sports Road and Sturt Road between the intersection of University Drive and Link Road.
> CAR PARK 1 (Jan-Feb 2014)
Car Park 1 will remain open, with some lane restrictions while repairs to pot holes and some resurfacing are carried out.
It is expected that these works will be completed by February 2014.
