Depending on the situation it may be appropriate to get treatment from any of the following:

    • First Aid;
    • University Health, Counselling and Disability Services;
    • Your own doctor;
    • Flinders Medical Centre;
    • Any other hospital.

What if it is a medical emergency?

Call an ambulance 000 or 112 from a mobile phone.  If from a University internal phone dial 0 - 000)

State:

  • Your contact number,
  • Location,
  • Nature of emergency,
  • Identify yourself.

Then call University Security 12880 (or 8201 2880 from mobile phone) and give them the same information.

University Security will meet the ambulance and guide them to the correct location on the grounds.

Remain with the injured/ill person or contact your local first aid officer (PDF 183KB) or Security to assist until help arrives.

Reporting the accident/injury/incident

You must report (verbally or by email) the accident/injury to your Lecturer, Tutor or Supervisor as soon as possible. Alternatively you can report the incident directly via the University's online FlinSafe System .

This can be accessed from the University WHS web page. All incidents should preferably be reported within 24 hours. If you are unable to report the accident/incident due to being injured, then arrangements must be made for your Supervisor or Lecturer to report it through FlinSafe for you.

What about other emergencies ?
