Flinders University values its people and wants everyone to be safe and productive in work and study.  The University therefore takes its obligations seriously under the Sex Discrimination Act 1984, and is taking all reasonable steps to ensure staff and students can work and study in an environment free from Sexual Harassment.

The University’s policy contains links to grievance procedures.

In brief, sexual harassment is any unwanted, unwelcome or uninvited behaviour of a sexual nature. Sexual harassment is defined by law from the perspective of the person feeling harassed and it occurs if the behaviour makes a person feel offended, humiliated or intimidated and it is reasonable in all the circumstances that the person feeling harassed would feel that way.
